The Central Okanagan Hospice Association (Hospice) has worked hard since 1982 to provide care and comfort to those living with or dying from advanced illness and to help the bereaved.

More than 250 Hospice volunteers spend 20,000 hours a year helping 750 clients and another 1,200 family members. That's a $350,000 contribution to the community, but the peace of mind to the dying and the support to their family before, during and after the death is priceless.

For more information, visit The Central Okanagan Hospice Association.

The need for these services – palliative care, bereavement support, vigil, one-on-one volunteer services in the community, - will more than double in the next 15 years as more people move here, the population ages and that huge wave of baby boomers, who are now the volunteers, will need the services they now provide. In 15 years, the projected 50,000 hours Hospice volunteers will work, will be worth $1 million to the economy.

Mission

Our mission is to ensure future funding of hospice programs and the continuation of hospice services in the Central Okanagan, enhancing the quality, breadth and depth of palliative and bereavement services.

The Kelowna Hospice Foundation (KHF) is a trustworthy steward of donated monies and assets through responsible investments and granting.

Vision

Our vision is that Hospice be financially self- sufficient in the future as a result of investment revenue earned by the foundation so that vital palliative and bereavement services can continue to support families from Oyama to Peachland. Kelowna Hospice Foundation will provide ongoing financial support to Hospice programs and services today and into the future as the foundation grows.

KHF will also initiate future capital campaigns, to further support the dying and bereaved in our community.
